I did fairly well over the weekend but I did indulge quite a few times so I felt it would be easier just to start over on my fast.
On Friday, my original day 1, I got home from work and caved and had a sandwich and then some chips and animal crackers lol. I had been craving carbs something fierce, specifically pasta, and managed to settle on a sandwich and some chips, of course after having something salty you want something a little sweet right? Hence, the animal crackers. Good grief!
Saturday, I did well, I went to the baby shower and they had a very healthy spread. I had some carrots and some fruit, a little bit of tea sweetened with strawberries. I had a cupcake and some pretzel chips but that was all. I went to a smoker party that evening and had a little bit of a fajita and several margaritas and a piece of cheesecake. DOH! It was TOTALLY worth it though. Sunday and Monday weren't too bad either but I still had my occasional indulgences.
So far I haven't learned much about giving into my cravings, GRR, which was one of the biggest reasons for doing this. Plus I really want to get back to listening to my body when I'm hungry not my brain. So far so good today, a friend is doing the fast with me and is on day 2 with no cheats. I'm very proud of her and we'll help support each other through this. I just need to stay strong and focused and remember why I'm doing this.

Day 1 of the Juice Fast
Day one is already off to a good start. I weighed in at 182.6 lbs this morning. I took measurements this morning and will every week to see my improvements. I didn't eat especially well yesterday and I had a few beers last night, but it was the day before the fast was to start so I got it out of my system.
This weekend may be a little rough to say the least but I will give it my best shot. If I slip up it's not the end of the world and doesn't mean I'll need to start over, but a big part of this fast for me is a chance to really work on my willpower. Something that I really need to work on more.
Today my willpower is already proving to be very strong. I've walked past at least 5 candy dishes today that I usually would have gotten at least 3 pieces of candy from each and I didn't take one piece from any of them. I thought what would be the harm in just one piece but I know myself all too well and I would have had a really tough time stopping just there, so instead it's better for me to not have any at all.
I've had a lot of water today, probably more water than juice, but I remember the headaches I've gotten in the first few days if I don't drink enough juice. I hadn't been drinking a diet coke every day but often enough, and so far today I don't have a headache and I'm actually feeling pretty good. It's only half way through the day though. I had a protein shake this morning for breakfast and I've had about 1 1/2 glasses of juice so far today.
I was reading a blog and decided instead of drinking the same juice all day, I think I'm going to make a few different flavors and divide them up in mason jars and aim to drink 4-6 mason jars worth a day.
This weekend I have a baby shower (with cake), a birthday party bash (with BBQ and beer) and a brunch to go to. This is going to be tough but most things in life worth having don't come easy. Weekdays are generally much easier for me, weekends are tougher, but hopefully having a busy weekend will help.

Post Injection
The injection went well, it was pretty uneventful actually. I stayed the night with my parents the night before since we had to get up so early, I thought that would make it easier on my mom. I have to be knocked out for the injection so they won't allow me to drive myself to the appointment, so of course my mother agreed to take me.
The hospital that the procedure was being done at is about an hour and half away so we had to get up super early to get there. I got there had the injection and we were headed back home within about two hours. As I always do after these injections, largely because of the anesthesia, I slept for just about the entire day yesterday. I always feel really tired for the next couple of days afterward, to the point that I have a hard time keeping my eyes open.
I decided today to do another juice fast, and a very ambitious one at that. I've done them in the past and been very successful with them. So I will start my fast tomorrow and go for 30 days. At the end of the 30 days if I feel like it I may continue for longer but I'm just starting with 30 days for now. I learn a lot about my willpower and cravings and just a lot about myself in general when I do one. I like doing the fast to detox my body of all of the crap I've been eating and basically reboot my system. However, that means no booze during this period too. I'm okay with that though.

I slept from about noon until 5pm and then a friend came and picked me up and we met for dinner, then after getting back home I slept until it was time to get up to go to work today. Even today, I've been fighting to stay awake all day. I really hope I snap out of it soon. The injection helped a lot with my pain, however, I'm left with my right leg from about my knee to the bottom of my foot feeling like it's numb. It's more annoying than anything else, but I'm happy to not be in any pain for the moment. I'll call tomorrow to schedule my surgery, the doctor felt like the numb feeling would go away in a couple of days.
